“Of, so you’re John Dodge,” the person next to me at lunch said as if he knew me.
Well, he did a little even though I had never met this gentleman before. I was attending the MIT CIO Symposium yesterday and was using my mobile hotspot whose network name was “JohnDodge.” When the 1,000 or so attending hook into WiFi, many saw my name as an available network. As far as I know, no one tapped my mobile hotspot.
I got a chuckle out of this and it is something to be aware of. Has it ever happened to you? I knew many people at the conference so I guess it was my unintended way of telling them I was there, too.
